]]>I just wanted to share with you my most sincere thoughts and tips that may help you to keep moving forward with your small business
Compassion and grace: With you and your loved ones. Make those activities that raise your vibrations. Meditation, dancing, music, gratitude journaling, praying, yoga, exercise, do whatever you need to feel GOOD, grateful, and alive.
Look at where you put your attention. 15-20 minutes of getting informed are more than enough. More than that will drain you and leave your head full of information. Choose to put your thoughts on positive things and ways to make the best out of this moment for you and your community.
See how you can help: The best way to help yourself and your business is to be helpful to others. Offer resources, knowledge, or tools. Digital content free resources, entertainment, tips, online consultations, webinars, live sessions, any digital media is welcome now and an excellent way to stay on the top of mine of your audience.
Cross that big project: This is good timing for you to rebrand, work on your website, launch your podcast, get new skills with an online course, try a new technique, work on the lead magnet, create an online course, finish that ebook, you name it. You know the project you want to finish. Life goes on, and so your business, make it easy for your audience to consume your content, they want to hear from you!
Embrace the change: Unexpected changes could be scary, but there's always a silver lining. Try to focus on the good things, be grateful for what you have now, see how you can vibrate high on this situation and how good this will be for your business, maybe you 'll find options to simplify your workflow, or you'll find the way to book easier online, or maybe you finally launch that online class and boost your income. Crisis always brings good, we just have to be open to see it.
Speak your truth: Stick to positive rituals. Create your mantras about your health, your sense of security, and your abundance, create reminders on your phone to see them regularly throughout the day. Remember that our truth is within us; there's the only place we can control, make your mind the most beautiful place to stay. These are some of my mantras lately: "I feel safe and secure", "I'm healthy and strong", "Every little thing is working out for me", "This season will bring only positive things to me and my business", say it, believe it and move by these words.
I created some goodies for you to remember your truth and keep going spreading positivity and high vibrations :) Share the love and send this to fellows and friends so they can share with others <3

]]>This week has been amazingly enlightening for me. First, I wanted to let you know that I haven’t figured this all out yet, I’m still on my journey toward creating a balanced life, one in which I can work and live most of my days at my fullest.
These resources have been pure gold for me this week! They’ve enlightened me tremendously, and I’ve realized things about myself that I didn’t know before, just by opening myself up to change. All this material lives at a high vibration energy, and if you open your heart and mind to this, you may transcend to places that you’ve never even imagined. If you’re open to it, you’ll begin to notice immediate changes.
This week I’ve had two profound moments. In both moments, I was able to understand and unblock energy that wasn’t allowing me to progress over the last year, and as soon as I processed this I wanted to share it with you {{ subscriber.first_name }} because it’s just crazy how encouraging it’s been (I’m still processing the information myself).
- This powerful video about “How to Attract Abundance with energy clearing” by Christie Marie Sheldon. (I unblocked a wrong belief I had and began seeing results immediately).
- The “Do less” book by Kate Northrup. I’ve only read the introduction and it’s already shifted my mindset incredibly.
- Feng Shui Principles. I never thought I’d believe in Feng Shui, but I realized it makes huge positive changes in your life, energy and wealth. This past week I made a loooot of changes around my home. Just by decluttering I’ve felt the huge changes I’ve been asking for.
- The Manifest Now Book by Idillionaire. I purchased the audiobook and it’s my go-to in the morning.
- This Daily Quotation from Abraham Hicks - These daily quotes… I’ve read only a few of them and wow, they’ve been the perfect complement to all the energy I’m moving in my life.
Maybe, you were waiting for this light from the universe, God, being, the source, or whatever you choose to name it, so here it is. Take a few minutes and check out the resource that resonates the most with you. All combined together, these resources have been an incredible deluxe combo for me :)

I want to dedicate a little section of my blog to font creation education. Since 2015, I’ve been enjoying my journey through font creation, and it’s been a long and satisfying path. At the very start, I searched everywhere I could to find anything online related to creating fonts, and it was almost impossible to find valuable and educational content on this topic. It seemed like it was taboo, or that nobody was interested in sharing the how-to when designing professional fonts. I’ve found a couple of articles and tutorials, but it’s remained a confusing and cloudy topic on the internet. So I’m setting out to change that up here on my blog!
As a self-taught typographer, I attended a couple of online and in-person workshops, but none of them gave me everything I needed to know about creating fonts. I was grabbing bits of information here and there, researching it, and then putting all of my new knowledge together in practice.
If you’re reading this, you may be curious about what the first steps would be in creating a font. You’re in luck! Here I’ll share three principles for creating fonts, and how you can begin to get familiarized in this brave new world. Because, yep my friend, we have to start somewhere!
There are so many apps, software programs, and plugins that will promise you the creation of a font from your handwriting in a heartbeat. I’ve tried a couple without success. The thing is that if you’re looking to develop professional and profitable fonts you can’t rely on those software or plugins. You need something excellent to develop your font and make the most of it.
The best application to create fonts from my perspective is GLYPHS. It’s super easy and friendly to use, but I have to point out here that it’s for Mac users only. When I was looking to create my first font, I spent a lot of time searching for an user-friendly software that allowed me to use my hand-lettering to create a font system. Glyphs has been the only tool that has allowed me to do that with a smooth creative experience. I have to admit that being a first-time user of the app can be overwhelming at first, but with a little guidance and research, I was able to get familiar with the app and play around confidence learning how to use it.
If you want to learn how to make fonts, definitely get familiar with Glyphs. You can select a 30-day free trial of the software so you can play around before purchasing it. There are two versions: Glyphs Mini 2 and Glyphs 2. The difference is in the features and advanced options you have when creating and exporting the fonts. An excellent way to begin is using the Mini version and then upgrading to the full version later. In my case? I use the version Glyphs 2 to be able to support multilingual and web fonts.
When I was about to get started creating fonts, I was so thrilled to know that I could generate something organic like hand-lettering and make it a font! I needed to draw all the characters, then scan them, and then prepare every single character before bringing them down to the font editing software. That process made the whole experience feel more organic and valuable.
You may already have a favorite tool in which to tackle your hand lettering or creative projects. So making the time to get inspired and explore through your medium is a good way to begin thinking about your first font. You can use pencils, brushes, markers, and tech tools like the iPad Pro, or software like Procreate or Adobe Illustrator.
For instance, I love doing calligraphy and hand-lettering using brushes and markers, so creating alphabets and symbols using the tools I’m most familiar with was a good way to start exploring the letters.
The Ipad Pro in combination with the Apple Pen have become my go-to tools when creating fonts. For drawing, I use Procreate. I love the way I can draw and redraw every character until I get the perfect one that fits with the entire font system, and it makes me stick to these tools (and app!) over and over again. By the way, I’ve created my own Procreate brushes for lettering in case you want to try them out for free, but I have to warn you: you won’t be able to stop playing with them!
Also, you can try creating your letters in Adobe Illustrator if you want to achieve a look that’s less organic than hand-lettering. Nowadays the possibilities are endless, and the sky is your limit! Part of the process when creating a font is getting familiar with your artistry and your specific artistic tools as well. Keep in mind that the best way to create your letters is by drawing them in high contrast, and for that, I recommend using black color for your letters over a white surface. This way it’ll be easier to vectorize the characters for the editing software.
The characters of a font include way more than those 26 letters of the alphabet! If you want to become a font designer, you have to know that a font is a complex system that includes more than the letters of the alphabet. Besides the uppercase and lowercase letters, you must include numerals, symbols, punctuation, marks, and even characters you may not be familiar with included in other languages. For that, I created a glyphs guide for you to get familiar with these new shapes so you can play around drawing them in different styles.
I wish I knew the importance of these three topics back when I was first starting out in font design. And I really hope they make a difference for you in your creative journey!
I’d like to know more about you, and what you would like to know about font designing, so please leave a comment below. What would you like to know about making fonts? And what are your struggles in the process?

Hey friend!
I’ve been working in the online business for more than 10 years. I’ve tried a lot of different platforms, apps, software, and websites, and I feel confident sharing my favorite online tools that have changed my business game in a significant way. These tools have also helped me start and grow my business successfully over the years. (Showit is the only exception here as it’s a more recent discovery).
So, here's my list of faves:
Shopify is an e-commerce platform that allows users to build their online shop in a super simple way. It’s specially designed for small business owners and works well with bigger companies too. From developing the storefront design to the implementation of the payment platforms, and all the possible integrations with third parties providers, Shopify is the best when talking about the e-commerce experience for all, sellers and buyers. And I love it!
I can boast that I’m already a senior customer at Shopify as I signed up in 2012. Years after I signed up with them, they changed their payment plans to add commissions per sale; however, they have honored my premium plan at the same cost without adding commissions, so I’ve been incredibly proud to stay with them over the years because we’ve had a two-way relationship based on loyalty.
Before starting my website on Shopify, I had an Etsy shop where I sold my digital templates. I loved Etsy because it’s where my brand born, but I wasn’t getting 100% of my earnings due to commissions. When I launched my website (Birdesign), I saw a huge boom, for my customers and me. I certainly didn’t expect to make $20K in the first 3 days of launching, and best of all I was getting 100% of the earnings for every sale.
So, if you’re looking to build an online shop take a look at Shopify, and all of its offerings and payment plans. You can even sign up for a free trial. Looking through their Themes is an excellent way to feel inspired and get in the mood to rebrand or launch that "new something" you may have in mind.
Showit is the most recent discovery for me, but one of my favorites! Believe me, you will do a happy dance once you realize what I'm talking about.
I’ve used Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Wordpress, all kind of themes, but nothing else is as flexible and user-friendly as Showit. Basically, it’s a “drag and drop” website builder. They promote the app like a “website builder for photographers,” but the truth is that it's perfect for anyone who wants to create their online dream home.
It’s also incredibly easy to use, and to sum it up easily: YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU CAN IMAGINE with your website. For my own site, I bought a premade theme from Tonic, because I was very new at the platform and I wasn't savvy enough to build something from scratch. And I can tell you that in just a couple of days I was pretty confident using the platform, customizing pages, redesigning my home page, adding my own content, and making this site my new home.
First impressions are crucial while doing business, so having a cohesive online presence is a priority for me. Showit is the tool that has allowed me to give my customers a unique experience while perusing my website. There’s no website like mine, it’s unique! And that makes me so happy that I want to dance every time I share it with someone.
Oh! I have to add here that the Showit support team is incredible. They’ve solved every single issue and question I’ve had in less than 24 hours, even sooner when someone is available to chat. So if you decide to go for it, I'm sure you’ll always be taken care of through their outstanding customer service.
Pinterest has been my business’s #1 source of new visitors and buyers. It looks like Pinterest is the perfect search engine for creatives when looking to achieve something in the prettiest way. Have you stayed there for hours like me? It’s clear that Pinterest is a key tool for creatives with an online business.
But why has it specifically been such a bit help for my business? The best strategy has been combining Pinterest with valuable content like my monthly freebies. Clients and readers save my freebies to their accounts, so in no time I have pin after pin (and repins too!). The content becomes very popular and brings in potential clients to my website to enjoy my freebies and products. After trying my products for free and getting to know my offerings, they eventually become paying clients. Simple right?
I used to pin a lot of my content plus the things I love most, however for several years I didn’t have a strategy around my Pinterest account. I was getting a lot of traffic from Pinterest, but I wasn’t making the most of it. Making some tweaks has allowed me to drive even more Pinterest traffic to my site and therefore my revenue. (check out this free guide to improve your Pinterest strategy)
You may already know this one, but I just wanted to let you know how ConvertKit and having an email list has impacted my business.
I began using Mailchimp to grow my list for several years until I reached 57K subscribers, recently I switched to ConvertKit and I'm just in love with it. One of my favorite features is that allows me to create email sequences, segment my subscribers and create opt-in forms in a heartbeat for my website freebies.
Email marketing has been key for my business and ConvertKit is now my partner in crime to my list building and communication with my audience. I'd recommend it first and foremost to anyone looking for email marketing solutions.
The payment plans begin at just $29 a month and increase accordingly to the subscriber's number, and believe me it worth every single penny!
Running a business online is a lot of work, and like any new skill you have to tackle, it gets easier when you have the right tools. I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to achieve some of my significant milestones without these useful platforms. Check them out for yourself and let me know your thoughts. Do you have game-changing online tools you can share here?
